Bosch high-voltage electronically controlled common-rail electromagnetic injectors and traditional mechanical injectors are very different in structure and fuel injection principle. The traditional fuel injector injection principle is: fuel from a fuel tank is pressurized by a high-pressure oil pump. After the high-pressure fuel pipe enters the nozzle oil chamber in the fuel injector inlet pipe, the high-pressure fuel overcomes the elastic force of the spring and causes the needle valve to rise and the fuel is injected into the cylinder. Common-rail electromagnetic injectors receive signals from various engine sensors through the ECM. After analyzing, calculating and comparing, they send pulse commands to the controller to control the solenoid valve coils to accurately achieve fuel injection at the time of energization and power-off.
Bosch Common Rail Injector Structure
It is through the solenoid valve to control the amount of fuel injection and injection timing. The electronic control module (ECM) powers the solenoid valve by turning off the high-side and low-side switches. There are two high-side switches and six low-side switches in the ECM. The injectors of cylinders Nos. 1, 2 and 3 share a single high-end switch in the ECM, connecting the injector circuit with the high-voltage power supply. Similarly, No. 4, 5, and 6 cylinders also share a single high-end switch. Inside the ECM, each injector circuit has a dedicated low-side switch that forms a complete circuit to ground. The engine harness connects the ECM with three injector circuit through connectors in the rocker chamber housing. The internal injector harness is located under the valve chamber cover and connects the injector to the engine harness at the penetration joint. Each penetrating joint powers two injectors and provides a circuit.
Injector is a vulnerable part in the engine, and the maintenance and replacement costs are very high. When using it, it is also necessary to pay attention to daily maintenance and maintenance.
